Bridging the Skill Gap,
One Individual at a Time

Why It Matters

India, with over 65% of its population under the age of 35, boasts one of the world’s largest emerging workforces. Despite this demographic advantage, unemployment remains a pressing issue, particularly among youth in low-income communities. A major factor contributing to this challenge is the skill gap—the disparity between the knowledge and skills accessible to young people from marginalized backgrounds and the demands of today’s job market.

In our community, this skill gap is evident in two critical areas. First, a shortage of vocational skills limits opportunities for meaningful employment. We address this through specialized courses in Beauty Culture, Stitching, and Automobile training. Second, affordable, quality computer education remains scarce, hindering young people’s prospects in a technology-driven job landscape. Our Digital Skill courses bridge this gap, empowering individuals to improve their employability and build economic independence. Through these initiatives, we are not only upskilling individuals but fostering sustainable growth and resilience within our community.

Alarming Facts

The global youth unemployment rate remains high at 14.7%, despite a slight decline in overall unemployment rates.

Globally, 20% of youth are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), with India’s NEET rate even higher at 27.4%.

While India’s youth unemployment rate decreased to 10% in 2023, the rate is much higher among educated youth, with 19.7% for those with secondary education and 28.4% for graduates.

By 2041, India’s demographic dividend will peak, with 59% of its population in the working-age group. This translates into an additional 96.5 million people entering the workforce by 2031.
