Community Development and Environment Programs

Programs

Our Community Development Program is dedicated to uplifting communities at every level. Through a focus on Women Empowerment and Environmental initiatives, including Water Conservation, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), and Solar Power, we aim to build leadership capacities and foster responsible, sustainable communities.

Why It Matters

Our Community Development Program was created to address the deep-rooted social challenges that impact vulnerable populations. Issues such as domestic violence, child marriage, family disintegration, and declining moral values require comprehensive solutions. These challenges led us to design holistic strategies aimed at crime prevention at the grassroots level.

Recognizing the strong link between social issues and environmental challenges, we expanded our efforts to include programs focused on creating harmony between communities and the environment. By improving social and economic conditions and addressing environmental concerns, we aim to break cycles of violence and create sustainable, empowered communities.

The History

Our journey began in 1996 with the establishment of the first stitching unit in Bhondsi, a visionary step toward economic empowerment and community transformation. Since then, the initiative has grown into a dynamic community development program, addressing evolving needs through rural entrepreneurship, women's empowerment, legal aid, health, and environmental sustainability.

  1. Sakshar (Educated): Promoting literacy and education for all.
  2. Saksham (Skilled): Developing skills to enhance employability and self-reliance.
  3. Sashakt (Empowered): Empowering individuals, particularly women, to lead change.
  4. Swachh (Clean): Ensuring sanitation and hygiene for healthier communities.
  5. Swasth (Healthy): Fostering health and well-being at the grassroots level.
  6. Surakshit (Secure): Ensuring safety and protection for all women, children and community members.
  7. Swavalambi (Self-reliant): Encouraging economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.

Through this holistic model, we strive to create self-sustaining, empowered communities.

Our Programs

As part of our community development initiatives, we run two flagship programs aimed at empowering rural communities and promoting sustainable development:

1

Women Empowerment (Unnati)

Through Unnati, we mobilize rural women, fostering financial security and self-reliance. The program, which began with the creation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), has evolved to focus on livelihood generation by offering skill-based training in areas such as stitching and tailoring, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and financial literacy.

2

Environment

Our environment program focuses on creating sustainable and eco-friendly communities through a variety of initiatives. These include water conservation, green space development, promotion of renewable energy, and the implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices. By addressing environmental challenges at the grassroots level, the program encourages responsible resource management and environmental stewardship.
